I shoot and edit corporate video. You can watch some of my publicly viewable work (a small subset alas) on my business website here.
This blog originally had lofty intentions about debating the slow rot of broadcast media, watching the tall trees fall as the spore of web video spread. A potential diatribe inspired by the WGA strike in the fall of 2007, which kickstarted a lot of web based video series which… wanted to migrate to broadcast TV.
Personally, I’ve all but given up watching broadcast television. There’s nothing worth watching when you finally have time to watch, and this is down to schedulers and the linear approach to broadcast. I consume network television on demand on my MacBook Pro, and whilst not HD – not even SD – it’s absolutely fine because it’s convenient.
And I could contemplate the navel of this sea change all night, but thanks to the folks at MacVideo and DVinfo.net, I could do more service to the community by occasionally ranting about things I really know and/or care about: event video, video editing, web video, compression, podcasting & binaural recording, Sony EX1 and Z1 camcorders, chickens and family life.
